First Principle
Marketing Rulebook
#
23

AI-generated outputs remain subject to human review and brand governance.

🚩 Blindside Block
FP-4
The Violation
The Principle

AI systems generate content, recommendations, or automations without sufficient ‘human-in-the-loop’ oversight or quality control or risk mitigation.

The call

AI without a review process publishes hallucinations, erodes brand voice, and creates compliance risk at scale. Every AI-generated output needs a human checkpoint before it goes anywhere near a live channel.

The Legends

Ogilvy's test works for every AI output: "Never write an advertisement which you wouldn't want your own family to read." Hopkins: "An ad-writer, to have a chance at success, must gain full information on his subject." Fluent writing without full information is exactly how hallucinations get published.

In Action (the tape)

• Factually incorrect AI content

• Generic brand voice

• AI-generated hallucinations published publicly

• Unreviewed AI automations making decisions

Owned — AI-generated pages published unchecked.

Earned — AI-written PR pitches misaligned.

Paid — AI creative violates brand tone.

Analytics — AI insights trusted blindly.

AI — No review or feedback loop.

The Corrective Play
rule-23

• Human-in-the-loop workflows

• Define AI usage standards

• Create approved prompts and QA processes
